Accessibility Statement
Last updated 6 September 2026 · Varnan Digital (OPC) Private Limited · CIN U62090KL2025OPC096808
Varnan wants varnandigital.com to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or reduced motion. This statement says honestly where we are, what we have done, and what we know is still imperfect.
Conformance status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the site meets the standard, and we know of specific areas that do not yet. Those are listed in section 3. We have not commissioned a formal third-party audit, and we will not claim one until we have.
1. What we have built in
- Keyboard access — every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring. A “Skip to content” link appears as soon as you press Tab.
- Semantic structure — pages use real headings, landmarks, lists and tables so assistive technology can navigate them, rather than styled div elements.
- Text contrast — body and interface text meets the 4.5:1 minimum against our background, and primary text sits well above it.
- Reduced motion — if your system asks for reduced motion, animations and transitions are switched off and the animated hero canvas is not rendered.
- Images — meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text; decorative panels are hidden from assistive technology.
- Responsive layout — the layout is built to reflow on small screens and to survive browser zoom, and wide tables scroll inside their own container rather than forcing the whole page sideways. We have not yet measured this against every WCAG reflow and text-spacing criterion.
- Forms — every field has a visible, programmatically associated label, and errors are announced rather than shown by colour alone.
- The cookie banner — reachable by keyboard, dismissible with Escape from the preferences panel, and it gives Accept and Reject equal visual weight rather than hiding the refusal.
- Self-hosted fonts — text renders reliably without depending on a third-party font service.
2. Compatibility
The site is built to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, used with the screen readers those platforms ship with. It is not tested against browsers that no longer receive security updates, and some things will not work in Internet Explorer.
3. Known limitations
We would rather name these than let you discover them:
- No formal audit. Our assessment is a self-evaluation against WCAG 2.2 AA, not an independent expert review or a full assistive-technology test matrix.
- Blog content. Articles are produced through a content pipeline. Alternative text and heading order are reviewed, but an older post may still contain a chart or diagram whose alternative text is thinner than it should be.
- Third-party content. Where a page loads something from another company, such as a scheduling tool, we do not control its accessibility. We are not responsible for it, but tell us if it blocks you and we will find another route.
- Wide data tables. Some tables in our legal and reporting pages need horizontal scrolling on a small screen.
- Video and audio. We publish little of either. Where we do, captions and transcripts are not yet applied consistently, and we will provide one on request.
4. If something blocks you
Tell us and we will fix it, and in the meantime we will get you the content another way. Email [email protected] with:
- The page address.
- What you were trying to do.
- The browser and assistive technology you were using, if you know.
We acknowledge within 2 working days and aim to resolve or give you a plan within 15 working days. If you need a document in an alternative format, ask and we will produce it at no charge.
5. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with our response, reply and it will be escalated to the Director. Varnan is an Indian company, and we also work to the standards expected under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites where they are relevant to us.
6. How we keep improving
Accessibility is checked when we ship a template change, not once a year. New components are tested by keyboard and against contrast requirements before release, and reported issues are prioritised alongside functional bugs. This statement is reviewed whenever the site design changes materially, and at least annually.
